Thomas Simmons is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University, majoring in Broadcast Journalism and minoring in Business. Born in Jacksonville, Florida, he has lived all along the eastern coast and presently resides in Chesapeake, Virginia.
Thomas works for Max Media of Hampton Roads. Serving as a producer for a 2-hour talk show onESPN 94.1 and a promotions assistant for the Max Media stations of 97.3 the Eagle, 92.9 the Wave, Hot 100.5 and Star 1310. Additionally, Thomas served as a Group Sales representative for the Norfolk Tides during the 2016 season.
His senior year of college he served as the Production Manager for ComRadio, the College of Communication's student-run radio station. Thomas also hosted and produced two weekly talk shows for the station, while also working as a play-by-play broadcaster, specializing in lacrosse.
He has interned in television, working for WPSU as a sports production assistant for the football show "Unrivaled: The Penn State Football Story" as well as the men's and women's basketball shows "In the Paint" and "courtside with Coquese." Thomas has also interned as a production assistant with both ESPN Radio 94.1 and Entercom Norfolk.
He is a passionate sports fan, having been raised by a family of college sports enthusiasts, and always loves to cover athletics in any way possible.
Thomas is also an experienced musician. He is a drummer who has played multiple gigs across the venues of Hampton Roads; his excitement for music is just as strong as his love of sports.
His ultimate goal is to work in the sports/ entertainment industry or to work in politics.
